What Is In the Box?

A brown box… everyone looks at it with curiosity. It sits on the table and it has a rope tied around it so that no one can look inside it. The facilitator asks for volunteers. Who would like to participate in this exercise? Many hands go up. This is our first Bhekulwandle community gathering at Seed of Hope. The attendance is good and people are interested. But what is the purpose of the box?

When the volunteers are divided into teams, the task is set. Each team has to determine what is in the box. They have to come up with an accurate list of the items inside. They are given the title of Expert; however, there are restrictions. The first team can only look at the box. The second team can look and touch the box. The third team can open the box while they are blindfolded and feel what is inside. The fourth team is the only team that can actually look in the box and see the items there. It was a fascinating experience to watch people participate and question. In the end, who do you think was able to identify all the items in the box? Only team 4 had the adequate knowledge to assess what was truly in the box (photos). Much as team 1 – 3 tried… they did not have enough information.

Maha Rasayan capsules viagra generika and King Cobra oil can solve this problem completely. The arteries dilate and penile muscles relax to allow blood flow to the penis to increase, resulting in an absence of quality i.e. female levitra impotence. ED sildenafil cost is not at all a rare condition. The greatest challenge when undertaking a renovation is the viagra sample free unknown and hidden condition of the existing building. This exercise challenges us all to consider how we evaluate the world. When we travel to other places and make evaluations on culture and living we must realize that we don’t have all the information. We really are only looking and maybe touching the outside of the box. The true experts of any community are the people who have lived there for a long time. They have seen the history and they have experienced all the positives and negatives of that community.

Community development is about mobilizing the true experts within a community to assess their own issues and identify resources already existing in the community to address those issues. We are excited to continue this process and see Bhekulwandle become a community mobilized for the good of all its members. We are also excited to see how Farming God’s Way and Paradigm Shift will become resources available to the community for their growth and development.
