At the end of this 2013, I can’t help but be overwhelmed with God’s continuing faithfulness. Here are a few highlights from the last year; do join me in thanking our gracious God!

• God has granted protection and health. Although we are far from home, where there is a high violent crime rate, and a very high prevalence of tuberculosis, HIV, and so on, we are and have been well and healthy – physically and otherwise. • God answered our prayer regarding high school for Jeremy. Our prayer was that we would find a homeschool board that provided teacher-directed on-line learning utilizing the Alberta curriculum – and that it would be fully funded by the provincial government. God has provided. NorthStar Academy specializes in providing online education for missionary families overseas, and we’ll be moving Abigail to NorthStar next September.
• Our support level was healthy. Though we are still in need of regular donors, one-time gifts helped keep us fully supported this year. God looked after us while travelling. During our home assignment travels, we were through airports in Johannesburg, New York, Miami, Toronto, Calgary and Kelowna. Although there was a lot of travel, and a grueling schedule, we didn’t lose any luggage, and none of us got ill.
• In late September, we travelled to southern Zambia – a malaria zone – and God protected us.
• We are ramping up Farming God’s Way. God has clearly led us to do far more in utilizing this amazing tool to break the yoke of poverty among the rural poor. Our focus has intensified, we’ve hired new (great) team members, funding has been secured and a new pickup truck bought. Our demonstration field is going well (despite a HUGE amount of rain!), and the training tools are getting translated. The foundations for a great harvest of training and discipleship have been laid!
